Irish Poker Open was first held in 1981, and was started by poker great Terry Rogers. Helping to promote Texas Hold'em across Europe, the Irish Open remains one of the continent's most popular poker events. The 2008 Irish Open attracted 670 players from all over the world, including the pro Doyle Brunson. The buy-in was 4500 Euros, and there was a prize pool was of 3,001,400 Euros.

Qualification:
To qualify for the Irish Open you have to play satellite tournaments at paddypowerpoker.com.
