This exotic tour is sponsored by PokerStars and its first outing in 2008 was an all-out success. The second season of the Latin American Poker Tour (LAPT) looks just as promising, with games held in Brazil, Costa Rica and Uruguay.

Grading the event descriptions and coverage on the site..
The LAPT is PokerStars' baby, running for the first time in May 2008. Its success looks to ensure its return this year, headed by Glenn Cademartori, President of LAPT, and Mike Ward as the tour's Director. Many famous players came from various part of the world to take part in the tournament, like Daniel Negreanu, Humberto Brenes, Chad Brown, and Victor Ramdin.

 
Qualification:

To qualify for LAPT you need to play tournaments on PokerStars and earn their FPPs. You can even win free entry to the main event.

This parameter looks at the level of stars and big name poker players..

Having only had one season so far, the LAPT is yet to produce a new star, but there were plenty of established stars there, like Brazilian fave Andre Akkari.

Winners were from all over the world, with Dutchman Julien Nuijten taking home $222,940 from Brazil, Hungarian Valdemar Kwaysser winning $274,103 in Costa Rica, and Jose Miquel Espinar of Spain taking $241,735 from the leg in Uruguay.
