A movie about a man who can be called 'The King of bad Luck' and how his bad luck follows him in his life and how that bad luck changes to Good Luck after a woman enters his life. A silly movie without much of Poker.

The cooler is a story about Bernie Lootz played by William H Macy who is the king of bad luck. He is a total loser. His wife and children and his pet cat has left him. He is all alone and suddenly one day he decides to try his luck in a Casino. Just imagine what happens when he enters a Shangri- La casino and plays, yes he loses whatever he had and was not able to pay the debt at Shangri-La Casino. Shelly, who is the owner of the Casino and also Bernie's friend, instead of getting Bernie killed, asks him to work in the casino until his debt is repaid. While working in the casino Bernie's luck begins to change and he meets a new cocktail waitress, named Natalie and after few meetings he falls in love with Natalie. This way the story proceeds with series of events. Comments Movie is directed and edited well but it does show poker anywhere in the movie. It just has some shades of casino games, because the movie revolves round the Shangri-La Casino. The genre of the movie cannot be defined properly that is it a poker movie, or gambling movie or a love story. As far as cast is concerned according to many viewers William H Macy could have been replaced by some young actor.
