Great name, shame about the site. Cool Hand Poker markets itself as a site for beginners, offering a safe environment for fun play, but it is simply patronizing and irrelevant.

Cool Hand Poker's Mantra

The whole point of Cool Hand Poker is to provide a 'safe' training pool for new players

The problem with Cool Hand poker is that it doesn't work as a concept. Of course, new players need to be encouraged and given environments in which to learn, but they don't need a whole site turned over to them. By turning away the pros and more experienced players, the beginners don't have anyone to learn from apart from their just as inexperienced fellow. Spot the flaw?

If it wants to be a site poker room dedicated to learning, it really should offer more games than the usual Hold'em, Omaha and Stud. And it goes without saying that you wont find any high stakes games here.

The 100% sign-up bonus, up to $350, is not as bad as it sounds, because although you receive it in increments, the rake only needs to be 25 cents to qualify the hand as a raked hand. As a result, you are likely to see all your bonus, where on other sites it is pretty unlilkely. Though there are no other promos, there are some rather endearing competitions on offer, where you can win an mp3 and suchlike.
